what human intelligence is, and why it is the scarce input now

No artificial intelligence without actual intelligence.

Two definitions first, because everything else on this site leans on them.

1. The open web is filling with synthetic text.

Open a search result and read the first three pages that come up. Some were written by a person. A growing share were assembled by a model, published by a script, and tuned to rank. Nothing on the page tells you which is which. The cost of producing a plausible page has gone to roughly zero, so the volume of plausible pages is going up, and it is not going to stop. This is not a complaint about AI. It is a description of the input mix.

2. Summaries are cheap. First-hand context is not.

A summary is a function of text that already exists. Any model can produce one, in any tone, at any length, on demand. What a model cannot produce is the thing the summary is a summary of: someone who bought the thing, lived in the place, ran the upgrade, took the drug, sat through the meeting. That account has to be generated by a person spending time in the world. The supply of it is bounded by the number of people and the hours in a day.

3. People still want a human check before they trust a model.

Watch what people do after an AI answer. For anything that matters, a medication, a landlord, a used car, a visa office, they open a second tab and look for someone who has been there. They are not checking the model's grammar. They are checking whether a human with something at stake agrees. The check is the product. The summary is the preview.

4. Models still need a human corpus to train and cite.

Every model was trained on text that people wrote. Train the next one on the output of the last one and the errors compound while the range narrows. Labs know this, which is why they pay for fresh, dated, contested human text instead of recycling their own exhaust. And when a model answers a consumer question, the sources it cites lean heavily on places where people wrote from experience. The corpus sits upstream of both the training and the citation.

5. Reddit is the liquid public market for that corpus.

There are other stores of human knowledge, but most are private (group chats), unstructured (video), or dead (forums that closed). Reddit is the one that is public, searchable, threaded, voted, timestamped, and still being written at scale. When someone types a question and adds the word "reddit" to the end, they are routing around the synthetic layer on purpose. That is a market signal. It is why labs and users end up in the same place, which r/twobuyers is about.

6. Naming that public layer "Human Intelligence" is the point of this project.

The idea is bigger than any company, but it needs a name that is not a brand. "Human Intelligence" is the plain phrase for what people know from being alive, said in public, and argued over. This site exists to define it, collect the people who are already saying it out loud (analysts, executives, journalists, see r/needham and r/earnings), and package it so it can be argued with.

The token is the trench packaging of that idea and nothing more. $HI is a token on the HI/RDDT pair on Robinhood chain. It is not Reddit stock (NYSE: RDDT), and nobody quoted on this site has anything to do with it. See r/token.

The motto at the top is borrowed. Reddit's CEO said it on an earnings call, and it is the shortest version of the whole argument. Source in r/earnings.

Concrete version of point 3: my kid's pediatrician prescribed something, the model summary said "well tolerated", the thread had forty parents describing the same rash. The thread was right. That is the whole site in one comment.

Fair, but Reddit is not the only place people are alive in public. Discord, group chats, YouTube comments.

Agreed, and the post says so. The claim is liquidity, not monopoly: public, searchable, voted, still growing. Discord fails public. YouTube comments fail voted in a way that means anything.

Reminder for anyone arriving from the pair: $HI is a token on the HI/RDDT pair, not Reddit stock (NYSE: RDDT). This post is the idea. The token lives in r/token.
